Water Pump Inspection

We Figure Out your water pump problems

If your water pump isn’t performing like it used to, or you simply want to stay ahead of issues, a professional water pump inspection can save you time, money, and stress. At Citywide Plumbing, we carry out thorough inspections for homes, farms, and rural properties across Auckland.

We check the condition and operation of your pump, identify any signs of wear or inefficiency, and provide clear advice on next steps. Whether you rely on tank water or a pressure-boosting system, we’ll ensure your pump is working as it should.

Why Regular Pump Inspections Matter

Over time, pumps can lose pressure, become noisy, or develop hidden faults that affect water flow. A proactive inspection helps spot these issues early, before they turn into full breakdowns.

Benefits of a scheduled pump inspection include:

Detecting pressure or flow problems early
Preventing leaks and costly repairs
Improving pump lifespan and efficiency
Reducing the risk of water supply disruption
Ensuring correct priming and system setup

Even if everything seems to be running fine, it’s worth having your pump checked at least once a year, especially for rural setups or older systems.

What We Check

Our licensed plumbers carry out a full visual and performance check during every water pump inspection. This includes:

Pump casing, pipework, and seal condition
Flow rate and water pressure testing
Signs of leaks, corrosion, or vibration
Priming and water source checks
Electrical components and control units
System responsiveness under demand

If we find any faults, we’ll explain the issue clearly and recommend whether repair, maintenance, or replacement is the best option.

Inspections for All Pump Types

Water pump systems vary widely depending on the water source, property size, and pressure requirements. That’s why we take a tailored approach to every inspection. Whether your setup draws from a tank, or mains supply, we check each component to ensure safe, efficient operation. Our technicians are trained to inspect both simple and complex systems, identifying early signs of wear or inefficiency before they become major issues.

We regularly inspect:

Tank-fed jet and multistage pumps – used for consistent household or irrigation water pressure
Variable speed pressure systems – ideal for maintaining stable pressure in larger or multi-storey homes
Mains-to-rainwater changeover units – including Acquasaver, Rain Main, and Rain Saver systems for smart water switching

No matter the type or age of your system, we’ll make sure it’s working as it should and help you plan for future servicing or upgrades.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Citywide Plumbing provides a reliable, friendly, honest and trustworthy service. My relationship with them extends back decades. While at the more expensive end of the plumbing services scale, the quality and consistency of their work is worth paying more for. I highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would give 6 stars if I could!
We had a fault with our waste water pump and the control switch and called a number of plumbers, all of whom referred us to Citywide Plumbing. They were on the scene within 20 minutes and had given us a breakdown of what went wrong and how they'd fix it. They provided a quote the next day and helped us work with our insurance. Once the parts had arrived Sean got to work and did an excellent job helping us get our plumbing in order.
Josh and Sean were a pleasure to deal with from the get go and were professional, courteous and were very knowledgeable - making them an expert in what they do.
Wishing everybody at Citywide plumbing all the best, you guys rock!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic service. Pump started making some noise, I ignored it for a couple of weeks and the organised the team to come and look at it a couple days later. Pump died completely that evening, they came out the following morning to rescue us with a loan pump. Took a look at the old one and showed it was done, installed a new one for me. Highly recommend the Citywide team.
